so yesterday I was forced to downgrade from the essential 15mbps plan to starter 10mbps plan because after 10 years they won't give me a discount anymore and insist on full price which is of course insanely expensive
there is clearly latency and lag being inserted into the connection - this has to be a marketing tool to try to get people to upgrade
note that I am NOT talking about transfer speed, once it is connected to websites, the speed is just fine, things like youtube and netflix also work just fine - also the speed drop is not dramatic at all of course 15 to 10 is trivial
I browse the same websites every day, just me without wifi on a fast desktop PC so I am familiar to the browsing "feel" - the moment they changed it, this delayed connection pattern became clearly obvious
since their marketing and no law prevents them from doing this, guess I am stuck until I switch to AT&T but I was wondering if there are any tricks around it or to reduce the delay as it is annoying (probably purposely so)
I already use 3rd party DNS, trying to avoid VPN-ing expense which still may not fix that behavior since connections are still made and dropped
are there maybe utilities that can sit in the background and ping sites like every minute so connections are kept alive?
