[CT] Canceled COX Last Night

Well after being a 16+ year COX Internet customer, last night I canceled my service with them. We had the 300 Mb Ultimate Service, which ran GREAT in running speed tests my tests always came out around 375 Mbps. The reason why I canceled service was because of the data cap. The entire reason we had the Ultimate Tier for service wasn't for the speed, it was because when we got it, the Ultimate tier included 2 TB as its data cap. Then one day that cap magically downgraded to 1 TB, and we started getting overage charges. (We have two teenagers who do nothing but watch online videos and play online games all day.) A few weeks ago Frontier offered us 90 MB service for $40 a month, so I had it installed and switched everything in the house over to it without telling anyone. NO ONE noticed anything different over the 3 weeks in my tests. Frontier has no data cap. So now I have internet that works just as well as COX did and I am basically paying what I was paying in overage fees to COX because of their bandwidth caps. The lady I spoke with when canceling asked my reason for canceling and when I said the data cap she said she hears that all the time as the reason. She asked if I had other service installed and I said yes, so she didn't try to keep me at all. No special offers were made or anything and my internet service was turned off before I ended the call. Before getting Frontier, I was going to drop down to a lower speed package, but their rates were still higher than the Frontier deal, plus I got 1 year of Amazon Prime for free as well. Was sad to get rid of COX again it worked great for me over the past 16 years, but with their data cap and reducing the data cap on the Ultimate Package from 2 TB to 1 TB was too much a cash grab for me and cost them my account.
