Up until yesterday I had been watching "Battlestar Gallactica" via SyFy in Cox' On Demand. I hadn't caught it when it originally aired and didn't want to spend the $130 with Amazon for the discs. It is not available to stream via buy/rent. Got past the first season and as with most non-premium cable shows I had to endure limited but brief, and unavoidable commercials. So be it.
A week or so ago I had also signed up for a 30 day trial with Hulu, where my intention was to view "Handmaid's Tale" as well as "11.23.63", both Hulu originals. Hulu also offered Gallactica, but at the time I figured "why use data (even though going over a data cap isn't a concern in my household) when the title is available as part of my Cox package"?
All that has changed as I discovered last night that in order to watch the three remaining seasons via Cox On Demand I'd have to pony up $2.99 an episode---they offer no season price or discount.
Now, I understand or at least am familiar with the licensing deals networks have with providers like Cox with their content. Missed the third season of "Better Call Saul"?---best be prepared and patient to hope that like seasons 1 and 2, Netflix will have it available once season 4 rolls around (same thing happened with another AMC show, "Walking Dead" season 7, which I wound up catching on Netflix, a week or two before season 8 aired).
Maybe it's available in some arcane corner of their labyrinth and frustrating support sites but I think it would better serve their subscribers by offering info on what's upcoming, or even more importantly, what shows/movies are leaving.
