Hello everyone, hoping I can get someone worth their weight in salt from Cox to help me out here. I've been experiencing an ongoing packet loss and latency issue since March of this year, so over 5 months, nearly 6. I'll give a rundown of exactly what's been done below.
Several techs sent onsite, initially thought to be an issue with wiring, replaced wiring going from box on the side of my house, into my house, also re-wired inside the box. Didn't resolve.
Another tech out, re-did (again) wiring inside the box on the side of my house.
Another tech, said it was the tap in front of my house causing the issue, sent a tap tech out, he said it was my buried line, ordered a replacement, had to wait 7 weeks for that.
Buried line was replaced, issue wasn't resolved. Another tech out, said it was wiring in my house, replaced it, didn't resolve the issue.
Another tech out, escalated to higher tier tech, who came out, fiddled with some wiring, couldn't find the issue, but saw some things upstream. Said network techs would be on it.
That last one was about a week and a half ago, with still no resolution in sight.
I'm paying for internet service that at best, is incredibly unreliable, and at worst, is unusable. And I've tried to be patient, again, this started nearly 6 months ago.
Below are screenshots from my pfSense firewall showing what I'm seeing. There are 2 gaps of several days, from June 1st through June 6th, and again from June 11 through June 17 where I was trying to eliminate anything of mine causing the issue, and took the firewall out of play.
In short, these issues have no pattern, they just show up and go away at random, and can last minutes, or hours. The one this morning lasted from about 12AM through about 6:30AM. Nothing was using any bandwidth during this time. The firewall is running a constant ping to our Cox Gateway, and measuring the response times and packet loss.
Please help, I'm at a loss here, and feel that I've been incredibly patient, but I'm at wits end. I have modem logs as well, if any Cox engineer feels like tackling this. Thank you in advance.
