Hi, me and my family have had cause for over 22 years, and when cable internet came out it was great, but now it's not looking so hot, they grandfathered us into the 50/5 plan and we were paying the same price for the 100/10 and never told us, I have negotiate for over a hour every year to keep the price from skyrocketing over $200 a month (We have phone/tv/internet) And after my last 1 hour+ call, expressing my displeasure and letting them know FIOS has taken over have the street already with much faster internet and a even cheaper price. They still couldn't match FIOS' gigabit triple play, but I've been with them so long I took the contract, which I have 25 days left to jump out of which I think I'm going to do. I have a relative living with me with medical issues, and they are trying to get a good livestream channel with youtube going to earn money they can't otherwise, the problem is the upload is flaky as hell quality wise, speedtest will show I'm getting ~10mbps down, but when you try to upload a livestream to twitch or youtube, the connection quality will randomly take deep dips going down to 400bps or just lately after I got my speed increased, drop over 60% of frames from a livestream, making it unwatchablee for viewers,
This is completely absurd, especially for the price I'm having to pay. I call tier 2 tech and they say everything is fine, and sometimes the connection quality upload is rock solid and then it'll be so bad the connection speed graph on twitch looks more like a seismograph during a earthquake than a actual graph of bandwidth. If anyone has any tips on how to get out of Cox before I run out of my contract grace period, and have to dish out $250 to cancel, or why I should stay with Cox, let me know. FIOS is just offering too good of a deal and Cox doesn't seem to give a d@mn about one of their most loyal customers in the area. I'm just concerned having a way to use my own router if needed with FIOS and if they papermail me my bill. Thanks for listening to my rant.
