I just got off the phone with a nice cox business tech whilst trying to get my residential & business 150/20 lines to show up as separate networks, both with internet connectivity. While I've been successful at doing this 3 times since my business install Monday ( which was an absolute train wreck - thanks cox business! ). Both Monday and Tuesday cox had 6 hour maintenance windows, which I assumed was them upgrading the nodes to 300mbps - confirmed this morning by a business tech for residential ( with both separate, non- bridged networks from my residential/business accounts ) I had dslreports speedtest top out at 336mbps down and 42.5 up. ( I'd like to post a screen but I just recovered my pass/account so the history isn't saved ) However, this reverts to no-connectivity after the maintenance is finished. wtf? Sorry, The big news is that the tech told me that the San Diego footprint is as of today active for gigablast. We know cox sucks at customer service, so I'm sure it will take some time to get to the whole county, but the good news is its truly on its way to the rest of us here in SD. This was a brand new alert the tech hadn't even seen yet and no time frame was given ( because they don't give them any ). Hopefully Google fiber coming to SD lit a fire under the powers that be a Cox Comm's ass that we're tired of being price gouged and intentionally hindered bandwidth when they basically own the entire fiber network here and there's plenty to spare. Let hope it gets to east county soon!
