I have VCRs connected to Cox Cable boxes in two rooms. One cable box is an Explorer 3250 (non-HD) and the other is an Explorer 8240HDC. The VCR brands are Sony and Toshiba. The TVs are older tube types. Until recently, the VCRs recorded all content including OnDemand flawlessly. A few weeks ago, all the OnDemand recordings became too distorted to watch. Only OnDemand content is affected; all the regular channels still record flawlessly. And the OnDemand content displays perfectly live on the TVs. Only VCR recordings are affected. In case you're wondering why I bother to record OnDemand programs on a VCR when all the VCR functionality is built into OnDemand, it is because Fast Forward is disabled on many OnDemand programs (i.e., the ones with commercials) plus a VHS recording can be kept permanently. Does anybody know why I can't record OnDemand anymore and how to fix it? P.S. I know, I should get modern HDTVs and DVRs...
