Hey guys I've been having some crazy stability problems with my internet down here in San Diego ever since Cox said they were going to do upgrades to the speeds. At first it seemed better but then for 3 weeks I had massive issues with any game being unplayable and programs like Skype being impossible to use as well as anything like Netflix or Twitch being very unstable pausing constantly or unable to even view.
Then it was totally fine for about 2 weeks and now its started back up again with a vengeance. Online games unplayable, web pages unable to load for a few seconds every minute and Skype dropping call/quality constantly. I have tons of online classes starting up soon and I have just gotten the standard power cycle your equipment or its your router etc from Cox.
Here are my down/upstreams from my modem I'm not gonna pretend to know if its good or bad:
Model: Cisco DPC3010
Downstream Channels
Power Level: Signal to Noise Ratio:
Channel 1: -2.0 dBmV 39.6 dB
Channel 2: -1.9 dBmV 39.4 dB
Channel 3: -1.6 dBmV 39.9 dB
Channel 4: -1.9 dBmV 39.5 dB
Channel 5: -2.5 dBmV 38.5 dB
Channel 6: -2.7 dBmV 37.0 dB
Channel 7: -3.1 dBmV 37.4 dB
Channel 8: -3.6 dBmV 36.4 dB
Upstream Channels
Power Level:
Channel 1: 51.0 dBmV
Channel 2: 44.4 dBmV
Channel 3: 44.7 dBmV
Channel 4: 45.9 dBmV
Another test done on myspeed:
Speed test statistics
---------------------
Download speed: 6149504 bps
Upload speed: 9460024 bps
Quality of service: 57 %
Download test type: socket
Upload test type: socket
Maximum download pause: 59 ms
Average download pause: 7 ms
Minimum round trip time to server: 46 ms
Average round trip time to server: 56 ms
I was running anywhere from 6% to 16% quality of service most of the day yesterday and earlier today when I checked it.
I just really can't do anything outside of basic webbrowsing most of the time and even that had problems. My modem is maybe a year old if that helps.
Thanks for taking time to read this long post :)
