Like the title says. I've received zero warning for anything, but at exactly midnight all service was cut off abruptly. Having no internet (and not thinking to use my phone to check the site), I called in to the support line. I get not one, but two separate recordings explaining an outage in my area.
First recording is in a robotic voice - think text-to-speech - and states that it should last a max of 90 minutes, and to restart my modem afterward. Second recording is the more natural sounding voice that states the outage is scheduled and should last until 6am local time.
I've never had this happen before. There's always been a warning of some sort any time that scheduled maintenance is going to happen, even when scheduled at 2am once. What's weird is that the website says nothing about it being scheduled (once I thought to check from phone). Only saying that, "Our systems show that you may be experiencing an outage related to your Internet, TV and Phone services. We are working to correct the issues as soon as possible. Estimated Time to Restore: 06:00 AM"
So my question - What gives? Seems like the 'scheduling' aspect wasn't quite relayed properly. My area (Pittsburg, KS) isn't supposed to be getting a blue light any time soon either... Any ideas? Would they schedule maintenance like this after an FCC complaint or anything? Multiple channels have been shitting the bed for a bit now, seeming to get worse more recently. Maybe someone finally had enough and called it in... Lol
