Hello! I am looking into purchasing my own equipment for the router and cable modem at my house. Currently, I rent a combo device from Cox - Arris TG2472.
My problem is this: I have Cox VOIP services, but not voip phones. So, they don't plug directly into my network. My homes existing phone wiring plugs into the back of my cable modem/wireless router supplied by Cox.
My question now is: is there some kind of an adapter/dongle that I can plug into my equipment that I can purchase that will allow me to plug my regular phone line into it? I asked a Cox technician for help with this the other day, but they were not able to offer any quality information.
The only routers I could find that supported a built in phone connection were either all in one cable moded/wireless routers (which I'd rather stay away from - so I can get best in breed for each component) or were less than stellar performing devices.
Let me know if you need any more information. I'm not sure if I explained this well.
Thank you in advance for any help with this.
