Calling all with data cap issues!

I've given Cox enough rope to finally hang themselves but I need some additional help. My equipment: Arris/Motorola SBG6580 Netgear WN2500RP v2 range extender Back in my Sept-Oct billing cycle my total data use was (reported by Cox) 149 GB but on my Oct-Nov billing cycle my use suddenly skyrocketed to an amazing 1020 GB which is the data cap max! Nothing in my home changed in that time and it miraculously happened at the precise time Cox started charging its customers for additional data; go figure. For my Nov-Dec billing cycle I was up to (Cox reported) 1,135 GB and I incurred an additional $30 charge for the additional data. On December 16th I began to question what Cox was reporting my new, astronomical, data use to be and I requested a copy of my data use logs from May 2016 through Jan 2017; online you can ONLY SEE the past four months of your data use. I was told that my request would be passed on to a tier two tech and a ticket was being opened for my request. That ticket has been "escalated" twice (as of this posting) and is still untouched..... I was able to get a credit for the $30 overage charge and at that point I opted to upgrade and add the additional 500 GB of data because nothing in the records I saw indicated that 1500 GB of data wouldn't be enough but I couldn't have been more wrong, according to Cox anyway!!! My Dec-Jan bill showed my data use to be 1,328 GB used! I was emailed and called to warn me that I was up to 87% of my allotted data and I was close to incurring more overage charges! So now I'm paying $109 a month for just internet service and despite an additional three calls, I still don't have those data use logs I requested. So I'm coming up on the end of my Jan-Feb billing cycle and it's absolutely amazing to see that my data use has suddenly changed again! The Cox data use meter shows I'm only at 700 GB! Please keep in mind that NOTHING in my home or my use has EVER changed during any of this. Let me spell this out as I see it.... As soon as Cox starts charging for data, my use skyrocketed through the new limits but as soon as I PAY an additional $49.99 per month for unlimited data my use DROPS..... Honestly, this seems pretty clear cut to me. I'd like to find out if there's any free third party tool I can use to monitor my own data use for this next billing cycle. 99% of my devices are wireless and the two pieces of hardware I have do not have any type of network data usage monitoring tools. In addition, if you are experiencing the same issues with their new data caps I'd love to hear from you! I am going to be filing a FCC complaint but I'd like to see if I can get at least one month of my own data use monitoring in first.
