Back in late Sept/early Oct I got an email from Cox, whom I've been with for 15 years now, indicating they would be starting data caps based on the plan the customer had. The email also indicated that I'd never exceeded 500GB in a month so the new limits shouldn't affect me. I received an email on my last billing cycle saying I'd hit 85% of my usage and today I got an email saying I'm OVER the limit and Cox will be happy to add $10 on my bill for an extra 500GB..... I'm calling bull$hit!
I have become accustomed to monitoring my modem signals, my connections etc because I've had so many problems with packet loss the past 5-6 months. I just find it convenient that I went from 149GB of data used in the Sept-Oct billing cycle to suddenly exceeding 1,000GB as soon as the policy is in effect.
I'd like to advise everyone to check your logs immediately; before that Sept/Oct billing cycle can't be seen any longer and compare it to what they say you are using now.
I'm pissed to put it lightly and I've demanded a copy of my data use logs from May 2016 to present. This is just insane!!!!
