Hi Guys,
Do any of the official Cox guys assist with CableCard related support here?
I am in the Arizona Market (Surprise). I picked up a Ceton InfiniTV PCIe card which makes use of a cable card.
Picked up a cable card / tuning adapter from my local retail store. Having difficulty making everything work. A few calls into general tech support hasn't yielded much other than them noting they believe it should be working. Recognizing they don't deal with cable cards very often I yielded and advised I would reach out to my manufacturer for some support prior to pressing them any further (which I have done, just waiting to hear back).
Here is my setup:
* Ceton InfiniTV PCIe card
* Cable card from cox
* Cisco STA1520 tuning adapter
Physical connections are:
* Coax from wall into 2way splitter
* splitter out 1 goes to POE filter
* POE filter goes to cable in on tuning adapter
* splitter out 2 goes to coax in on my retail device (Ceton card)
* USB connection from tuning adapter to PC
My Ceton diagnostic tool states, "CableCARD has not received validation signal. CAll your cable company to verify the information is entered correctly for this CableCARD and have them resend t he signal".
My couple calls to tech support have involved unpairing / pairing the cable card, verifying the cable card id/host id are correct. They continue to try and send the validation or activation signal but my diagnostic software never sees it show up. They note that when dealing with other retail devices like Tivo, typically an unpair/pair resolves any issues.
It was at this point I yielded and advised I would reach out to Ceton for a little bit of support. While I am waiting to hear back from them, just fishing to see if anyone else has had a similar experience / can share some guidance.
Regards,
Andrew
