Just discovered Call Block will prevent ALL calls from coming in from ANY and ALL numbers. I assumed because no numbers were selected, that the features was not active. In fact it WAS active and blocking all incoming calls!
I did not know it would do this. I had blocked a couple of repeated robocall #s that I could not get to stop calling. I guess I discontinued the block at some point? I don't recall. Then recently was told that all calls were getting a recording, "The number you have reached is not accepting calls at this time." I checked Call Block and it said no numbers were being blocked. I checked the Phone Tools online--nothing going on there. I called Tech Support. Twice. I disconnected the cordless phone set thinking maybe it was interfering. Nothing worked.
No one suggested dialing 64* and then pressing 3 to Turn the Feature OFF. I found that on this site in reference to the Selective Call Block feature .
Boy do I feel stupid, but then again why didn't tech support suggest this? Why weren't they able to see this on their end? Is it supposed to work this way? The interface was not intuitive, and it does not interact with the phone tools online. At no time does the voice recording say you are blocking or unblocking ALL calls or that this is possible
Very strange.
