My wife was on the phone with Cox changing our credit card for auto pay as we got a new credit card. During the conversation the COX rep told my wife we need a new Cable Modem as we are not getting all the speed we are paying for. (We are on the Ultimate Tier)
When I do tests I get around 120 down and 25 up. But on good days I can get 155 down and 25 up.
Not sure what model I have, but looking at 192.168.100.1 I can see it is bonded to 8 channels Downstream and 4 Channels up. The current configuration file on the cable modem is ^1/17FE5C4D/CT132003.
So what kind of modem should I be looking for? And does this mean if I get a new cable modem we will see the speed double to 300 mb like it has in other areas of the country?
