Hi there,
I've noticed over the past week or so that when I attempt to log into my Cox webmail (since I live in Las Vegas the address is west.mail.cox.net) using my primary browser (Firefox ESR 38.3.0) that it hangs for a period of time and then Firefox dumps a message page that says the following:quote:Secure Connection Failed
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. It then provides a button to "Report this error" which then gives me:quote:Reporting the address and certificate information for idm.west.cox.net will help us identify and block malicious sites. Thanks for helping create a safer web!and it also has a tiny "Learn more..." link which basically points me to this page:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tls-error-reports
so at this point I'm not exactly sure where the error might actually be: with Cox or with the browser. Since I can't do much about Cox I grabbed the latest version of Firefox (41.0.1) and it does exactly the same thing.
The latest version of Chrome doesn't do this, nor does IE11 (I use Windows 7 Pro x64 as my base OS). It doesn't have issues with Safari 9 on OS X El Capitan either - just Firefox.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I need to report something to Cox (or how) or Mozilla and I'm not sure it'll matter unless I'm not the only one having this issue. I reinstalled Firefox ESR 38.3.0 cleanly on three different computers (even on OS X as well) and it will not load the Webmail page from Cox on any of them.
Sure would be nice to not have to fire up a secondary browser just to check email for this one silly issue...
