I'm currently using a Cisco DPQ3212 8x4 (I have both telephony & ultimate internet service) and wanted to upgrade to the TG2472 since it's listed at their website (http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=b2ec95d0-7ef9-11df-5590-000000000000). Since the 300mbps upgrade is coming to this area, or already here (phoenix/az) I figured I might as well.
I started with online chat, who said they couldn't order the modem online since they don't have the ability to specify what modem to send. And said to call their support number instead since they can verify hardware and such.
I called up support, and after almost 60 minutes of waiting and 5 transfers they said they didn't have the ability to send out a modem either since they can't specify what modem to send out. And said to visit their COX store instead.
I end up visiting their COX store, told them I wanted to upgrade from the DPQ3212 to the TG2472 and they said they've never heard of such a modem and there's nothing they can do about it.
So I'm wondering, do they actually have this in stock? And if they don't, is there any way to check when they do? I can't really go visiting the COX store every day asking...
