[VA] NETGEAR C6300 PROBLEMS WITH COX COMATABILITY

Hello :-) On the Cox support page of Cox Compatible Modems the NETGEAR C6300 Wi-Fi-Modem/Router is listed as Recommended. Last Saturday I spent two hours with Cox Tech/Escalated -- the Cox system was spouting an error when the serial number was entered. That error was "Not in Inventory" which to Cox Tech mean "Not Compatible." We tried several times. I spoke with NETGEAR Support and they confirmed that my serial number is correct for my modem. CoxTech said that they had heard of an instance like this in California, but an onsite CoxRech Rep found that the modem was set to the wrong channel and was able to provision it from the person's home. They told me to call the Cox "Loyalty" Line. They set up an appointment for Wednesday but Cox Tech was a no show on Wednesday (very unusual Local Cox in Va has always been fast and on time when a visit was required-in VA). Local Cox Service had no record of the scheduled appointment despite the fact that I got a confirm email that morning. A CoxTech Rep is rescheduled to be here this PM. Has anyone else had this problem with a NETGEAR modem and if so, was it able to be fixed and how. Any and all comments are welcomed. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
