Well I didn't want to make this thread at first, however this issue has been going on for about a month, or more now. So I feel the need to create this thread now, as a way to simply track, and update this issue with replies from me. I will say though, I have talked to one of my local cox guy's, he is aware of this issue, and trying to resolve it. But like any customer, I'm starting to get a bit frustrated at this issue, as this ping spiking issue is horrible in the evening hours, during peak usage in the area. I do like to game online with my buddies in the evenings, yet this issue makes it damn near impossible to play most night's over the last month, or so. Because running in place, lagging back, and forth isn't enjoy. Also I even see video buffering at times because of this as well. So my main option as of late, is just don't use my internet connection in the evenings, and that just isn't right. So I will post my displeasure regarding this issue, as I'm no where near getting the $100 a month I pay worth out of my 150/20 ultimate tier of service. I have been using both speedtest, and pingplotter(been running 24/7 lately) to track from my end over last 3, or so weeks. The result's showed a steady pattern of issue's during evening hours, between 6pm-12am most night's. However there are some during day time hours, but no where near as many. On the weekend's, during the day it can be like evening hours, with neighborhood usage up. Also speedtest results will vary between as low as 20mbps to 120mbps down, when the ping spiking is happening. So all this data points to a utilization issue in my local area. I just hope this is corrected soon. As I'm near the point of calling cox, and telling them I'm unhappy with my current service, and feel credits need to be applied due to this. Again I have been discussing this with one of my local cox guys, he has helped me in the past, and is very open to helping solve these issue's. So I'm in no way mad at him, this thread is more about me becoming more frustrated with my connection as of late. So starting today, I will start updating this thread with speedtest result's, and screenshot's of what pingplotter captures. This will be for my own tracking mainly, and plan to post when this problem finally gets resolved.
