I've had a TiVo for several years now, when I moved here 4 years ago, I was able to get my TiVo Premiere up and running with no problems.
Couple days ago, I got a TiVo Roamio and picked up a new CableCard and Tuning Adapter. I tried activating it, and according to the special cablecard hotline Cox has, everything should be fine... but I only get pretty much all the local channels and maybe 1 or 2 extra. Everything else is "Not Authorized"
Eventually, trying to narrow down what hardware was the problem, I swapped around the TA and CC of my Premiere and Roamio and the problem followed the cablecard over to the Premiere.
If I go to the Conditional Access menu, everything seems to look fine except it says "Auth: MP" (Missing Packets) which according to TiVo's support means: "This error appears when the CableCARD fails to receive all of the authorization information from the headend."
Suspecting a defective CC, I took it to the Cox Store and swapped it for a new one... I also tried several times (as suggested on other websites) having Cox remove the card info and reactivating it with no luck. Further research says sending an "INIT HIT" may solve my problem.
Any ideas on how to convince them to do that? ... or any other ideas on how to solve this problem?
Thanks!
