Cox just installed new lines at my apartment complex. I called the rep that's been assigned to the complex, and he told me that professional installation was free, and that if I wanted to do self-installation, it would cost me $30.
He doesn't seem like he knows much about Cox and such. For example, he told me I couldn't use my own modem, and I needed to use Cox's modem ("oh it's not too much to rent one from us"). I know that's a straight up lie (Motorola SB6141).
So when he comes on Tuesday, I'm going to assume he isn't "certified" to do an installation because he's just a sales rep. However, will he be bringing a rep with him? Will he come on Tuesday, and tell me that a technician will be out within a week or so? I know that's a specific question, but I guess I am looking for first hand experiences.
Also, what should I tell him when he tells me (again) that my modem won't work with Cox? It's never been activated before.
