I have a Samknows unit that tracks ISP performance real-time over time, measuring various aspects of the connection, Up/Down sustained, burst, ping, latency, dropped packets and so on.
I am on, and paying for, Cox Premier. In Tulsa, that is 50 down/10 up. I occasionally stream Twitch.tv using OBS.... I noticed back in may that something had gone wrong and I was no longer able to stream at my former decent settings, and then lately it's been completely impossible.
Well, here, let me post the graph. It speaks for itself.
July the upload speed was consistent, just above 2.0 mbs, or 20% of what I was getting until it was cut in half in May, and then cut in half again in June. I haven't had any cut in my bill, that's for sure which is pushing $80 a month. I'm clearly not getting what I pay for, the question is why?
Resetting the modem makes no difference, it clearly connects at these same speeds. Something is up. Ironically Cox's website is down right now, (or simply so overloaded I can't reach it) I was going to pull some data (MAC etc) from their site for this post.
A little help? would be appreciated in restoring my service to the correct speeds.
Thanks.
Modem: Zoom 5341-J
Router: Netgear WNDR 3700v2
MAC available if needed.
