I did a test of my Motorola Surfboard SB5101 cable modem with the Cox cable line in my apartment and found that with the splitter attached (one coax line goes to TV, the other to cable modem), the signal strength was -6. I threw away the print out, so I forgot the letters after the -6. This seems to be on the borderline of an acceptable connection. How will Cox Essential high speed internet 5mps with my cable modem situation compare to AT&T DSL Pro 3mps service?
Also, is it easy to deal with Cox for connecting and disconnecting service? From reading their website, it appears they don't have any commitment or early termination fees. I only need high speed internet 2-3 months out of the year at this address.
