So have others had issues with the Netgear C3000 losing a customer configured SSID/Password during power BLIPS due to winds and storms causing the power to BLIP and not fully go out?
I have been dealing with this issue for over 15 years on many platforms and have finally realized that most of these problems are crappy firmware and/or hardware platforms. I have been using the Linksys Linux based platforms and Asus routers with DD-WRT and have had ZERO problems with the 3rd party firmware where at least with the Linksys firmwares the same platforms and devices were totally unstable. After dealing with the Netgear ProSafe line of routers and the Netgear disco ball flashing blue LED routers, I vowed to NEVER again use anything other than Netgear switches. I remove EVERY Netgear router from a network I install, manage and maintain.
I am thinking about kicking the Cox supplied Netgear C3000 to the curb and using a Motorola DOCSIS 3.0 modem or what ever Cox needs at this point and go with a Linksys or Asus running DD-WRT for stability purposes and to keep Cox from remotely reconfiguring the network and to eliminate the power BLIP factory reset. With networks running multiple wireless printers and other devices that then get knocked off the network when the Cox router is reset or loses is configuration it is maddening. My phone was ringing at 10 pm this evening and I just will not put up with all of this stupidity.
Just curious as to how many others have had issues with the CG3000 losing its configuration and resetting to factory defaults?
How many have dumped the Cox supplied Netgear C3000?
