San Diego Cox user here... just purchased the SB6182 from Cox to replace the Cisco modem they sold me a few years ago that began running VERY hot.
So far I am getting the exact same ping/speeds as the Cisco so I guess I'm happy? Didn't really expect higher speeds because I'm already getting a bit over the bracket that I'm paying for.
How do I check whether I have the latest version of the Firmware though? Originally I thought I could upgrade it myself but did some research online and people say you have to call in a request. I just called it in and the technician said she was flipping through the manual but had no idea how to check and told me just to call in again if it begins to show slowing etc???
Can anyone here help point me in the right direction of checking/pushing the FW?
Also, I was all happy because I've been reading online that this is the newest modem available in our area and I still don't see it for sale online anywhere... only to read in another thread that some AZ user has a new Motorola 16x4 modem!? Whaaaa. :(
