Does anyone know if Cox plans to eventually increase our Ultimate tier speeds to match the speeds they offer in most of their other markets?
Since last Fall we here in San Diego are officially getting (straight from Cox's website - http://ww2.cox.com/aboutus/policies/speedsusage.cox):
Maximum download speed: 100 Mbps
Maximum download speed with PowerBoost: 125 Mbps
Maximum upload speed: 20 Mbps
Maximum upload speed with PowerBoost: 25 Mbps
BUT....nearly everyone else in Cox's service footprint got upgraded to:
Maximum download speed: 150 Mbps
Maximum download speed with PowerBoost: 188 Mbps
Maximum upload speed: 20 Mbps
Maximum upload speed with PowerBoost: 25 Mbps
Somebody previously said something like it was due to bandwidth availability and infrastructure, but you would think that since the SoCal area is one massively populated metro region and is highly developed economically and infrastructure-wise that we'd get upgraded before places like Arkansas and Idaho. I think at this point only Virginia and SoCal have these slower speeds and everyone else got upgraded. Truly baffling.
