In the "near future" i will need to take my elderly father to the cox solutions store with me so can open a "roommate" account for internet only in my name. (he has basic cable at same address of one family house). In a past thread the roommate account procedure was addressed. Now i need to discuss equipment. Will cox provide me a combo modem / router (prefered) or just a modem. If the latter i will need to get an "n" router to replace my ancient linksys W-54g (blue with two antennas router). I will rent the equipment for a while in case problem pop up its their modem or combo. Right now i have the family sharing on Clearwire which be no more in the future so i want to start the mandatory transition to Cox while i let the family use Clear while i configure the Cox equipment / test for troubles. This will be a self install .
