Once or twice a day my cable modem speeds will degrade significantly and I will see a sequence of errors in the logs like:
1. Lost MDD Timeout
2. Cable Modem Reboot due to partial service
3. No ranging response received - T3 timeout
4. DS Partial Service Fallback: MDD Lost -> CM in DOCSIS 2.0 Recovery Mode
After this sequence of events the CM is bound to only one upstream and downstream channel instead of the four it usually has. A manual reboot of the modem via the GUI fixes the issue and restores what I assume is Docsis 3.0 mode.
It seems like this started happening about a month ago after overnight maintenance was performed. This may be a coincidence but it does seem to correspond with when this began happening.
Can a Cox rep take a look at my modem to see if this is something that can be corrected?
Also, when it does fallback to Docsis 2.0 mode, will / should it reboot itself eventually and attempt to restore 3.0 mode?
