I live in Hampton, VA and I've already tried dealing with phone support and have had a tech guy come out to tell me there's nothing he can do unless I have *NO* connection.
I pay for the Premier Plus 60 down service, and I have a Cisco DPC3010 Docsis 3.0 cablemodem. I cannot get more than 39.2Mbps down regardless of what I do. I have attempted to connect this in a multitude of ways. I have two cable jacks in my house, and have tried this on both, and I have disconnected everything, have gone without the router and have connected directly to three separate computer systems. One Windows 7 based system with GbE and two Ubuntu (Mint) based laptops one with GbE and one with 10/100. I keep my systems running at peak performance, and do not have any viruii or malware on any of them.
Cox keeps telling me their service is only UP TO 60Mbps down. I apologize for my tone here, but I don't consider 39.2 to be UP TO 60. If I hear that one more time, I'll be ripping their service out of my house. I consider 55 to be UP TO 60, not 39.
What ELSE can be done to get the performance I am paying for?
