San Diego Cox Premier customer here. I have had some problems with frequent internet dropouts since Christmas. My the time I get home from work to investigate, things are back to working again. Today the internet went out and I called tech support. They said that I shouldn't have my modem plugged into a power strip, but should have it plugged into the outlet directly. Anyone else heard of this? I have a wifi router, gig E switch, and some other gear on that surge protector and they are all fine.
2nd question: All my cable modems, including my recent Cisco DPQ3212 have a warm RF port. In other words, the F-Type Connector is hot. I measured with with my ear thermometer and it was about 107F.
