Hi, I was recommend by Someone on the Cox forums, he said you guys might be able to help me.
So I stream and therefore upload is pretty important o me. About a month ago I called cox because my upload speeds were between 3-4Mbps and I pay for 300/30. So over the last month I've had Cox techs at my house both my days off every week. I'll try to give a basic order in what has been done.
1st tech: says he fixed a bunch of stuff in the box across the street and suggested that I might need a new line ran outside my house to the inside and that my modem/router combo that I was renting from Cox was garbage. No change to Upload speed after his visit.
2nd tech: I got my new modem (CM600) a day before the appointment and right after I called to activate my upload speeds jumped to 17-25Mbps for about 4 hours then they dropped again. Tech came out and ran a new line from the outside to the inside. No change to upload speed.
3rd tech: I believe this was a supervisor directly from Cox and the last tech I would be working with. Through out the next 3 weeks he ran a new line under the street to my house, replaced the tap and did a bunch of other stuff in the neighborhood. Now through all this there were multiple times where my upload would jump back up to 17-25Mbps and I would be able to stream at 6k bitrate 100% fine but it would only last a few hours then it would drop back down to 3-6Mbps. Last week he pretty much told my they've done everything they could do and admitted that most of their calls are for download issues and upload is kind of new to them and they're trying to figure it out.
So after all of this my uploads speeds are about 5-9Mbps better but way to unstable to stream. I bought another new modem (SB8200) and replaced the flat cat 6 cables I was using with round ones per the last techs suggestion.
If you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it as I'm all out of ideas and I feel like Cox has put all the man hours into this that they're going to.
and I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.
