A family friend of mine calls me up saying the internet is down again. I already moved some splitters around in the past and put the modem on the first -3.5 leg to get the best signal, they have a new drop from the road, new demarc outside, new drop across the attic and new splitters. I checked everything and all was still well with ends and such. Mind you the internet was working fine until abruptly according to my smokeping to them it dropped around 9 or 10am.
Cox tells them their router is bad and the modem is working fine. Seems kinda odd to me. So I bring a spare CM600 with me and another 3x3 802.11ac router. I plug in directly to the modem and I can see packet loss still like crazy. So just to appease Cox, I swap the router, same thing of course. Let's swap the modem. After the first CSR hung up on us since she couldn't figure how to swap things over, I knew it was going bad when after 15 minutes on hold she still didn't have the modem reset yet to take the config. The second CSR was great though, took her 2-3 minutes.
The packet loss is still there but not as bad, I'm assuming since I've lessened the impact of 3 channels out of 8 being bad on the other modem, this is 3 out of 24 now. The screen shot of the modem was with only about 1-2 minutes of uptime. The LTE ingress from band 12 is destroying two channels kicking the SNR really low. You can watch the uncorrectables just kick higher and higher.
Curious to see how many Cox techs it will take this time to come by their house...or should I just roll with a FCC complaint about the noise? And yes, this is another noise issue thread like many here along with my own noise thread...which knock on wood has been running great for a week straight.
EDIT: Screenshots won't upload? Tried both Chrome and Firefox.
Imgur Links will have to do.
