Posted this to Cox forums, but got no help. My current setup is using PiHole to help block ads across my network. It is setup to use Google DNS.
But recently, I have noticed that websites that don't exist (i made a typo, etc), will attempt to redirect to finder.cox.net (which PiHole then proceeded to block). It didn't happen with every 404 query, but still. I checked to see if this was my network setup as suggested by Cox people @ Cox forums. So I plugged modem directly into computer, rebooted both. Changed DNS to use Cox's non-redirect DNS. I even changed to use Google DNS and another DNS server. Would still get finder.cox.net.
I have verified there is no virus/malware on my computer (would be a weird virus that would force me to use finder.cox.net). I haven't seen any other DNS related issues either.
Is there something else I can check?
