Howdy all. I've been wrestling with Cox over our HSI for a few months now. We've had intermittent connection drops in the past. But since we switched over to an Internet Streaming TV service, the problem has become much more apparent. The video stream on one or both of our TVs will freeze. Eventually both TVs freeze and the internet connection drops entirely. It usually comes back after about 10 minutes.
I don't believe its my router (ASUS ), and I don't believe its our modem (Motorola MB7420) although I have no way to rule out either of those peripherals. Things I've done is replace the entire coax line from the street connected to the modem, connectors included and the modem is the only item plugged into the coax; and I grounded the coax between the house and street drop with an 8 ft grounding rod and coax grounding block. Not sure what else can be causing the error. Cox has sent a tech/contractor out twice. The first one put a 12DB RSA pad to boost the return signal. I guess there was a bit of tilt on our line. The second one checked the RG6 connectors then suggested I get a Cox modem with panoramic wifi since our equipment is probably bad.
At this point, I will take all suggestions. The two screenshots above show the modem info before a reboot today, and after.
