So, I decided to add TV to my account today. Got a Contour 2 DVR and a Mini Box.
First Contour 2 box showed me that it was initializing and told me to wait. It did this when connected to HDMI. Seemed to go alright, box started showing the time, but it then refused to pass anything via HDMI. TV said there was no signal on HDMI.
Went to the Cox store and got another box. Same issue. With both boxes, I tried multiple cables and TVs with no luck. But, they both passed video over coaxial.
I did the HDCP reset song and dance on the phone with Tier 2 support. No luck.
The mini box works fine. But it doesn’t get HBO, which I wasn’t told about when I got it but I figured it wouldn’t, so no big deal.
Any ideas on what’s going on with this Contour 2 stuff? Do I really have bad enough luck to get two bad boxes in a row?
