Hello!
I am in Lake Forest, CA and have had extremely reliable internet through Cox's "Ultimate Package" up until about 2 weeks ago. I first noticed the issue when I started dropping 50-70% of data while uploading to Twitch or Youtube Streaming.
Checking the Cox speedtest page provides me with results of ~300Mbps/2Mbps . I get similar results from other sites, and this matches with my current uploading capability. I put in a ticket with Cox 2 weeks ago and it is still sitting with their "Dedicated Internet Group", with no response. I assume this is most likely to be a routing issue, but I have no way to prove it or do anything about it.
One of the Cox support agents told me my modem was outdated and had me upgrade to a new Arris, but the results have been the same. The technician that came out replaced some of the wiring outside of the apartment as well as all of the coax inside of the apartment, but the results were also the same. He then tried replacing the modem with a different Arris modem and upgrading the firmware, but that also did not yield any new results. He could not explain to me why my download was so high but my upload was so low. He seemed to think I had incorrect "coding" and that I wasn't actually receiving "Ultimate" upload speeds. He left without any answer and told me "he is just sent out to check the hardware and wiring and can't do anything about it".
And so here I am, left without my secondary source of income via streaming. :( If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them.
