I keep detailed stats on lots of cox Biz and res HFC modems around this area (from various, local cox biz Fiber / "Optical Internet" lines)- As of Sep 8/9th (around midnight to 1am), the Kenner / Metairie area had a upgrade (ie mass short term outage) for about 10-30m.
After coming back online, modems were using a new DS frequency range ( 681mhz to 867mhz, vs 729mhz to 867mhz prior) + modems capable of 32ch DS , were running at 32ch DS (vs 24 max before).
As of around Sep 16th (around midnight to 1am), the NOLA area underwent the same exact upgrade.
As of Last night (sep 18, midnight), some Netgear CM 1000 modems i service upgraded from FW v 2.01.16 to 3.01.02 (biggest FW upgrade on these modems in their 6month or so life, prior upgrades were from 2.01.14 to .15 and .16).
The new cm1000 FW now added additional stats related to D 3.1 such as UnErrored CW, and SNR/MER (vs before just CCW and UCW before)
(but still *neither* CM1000 nor SB8200s i service are locking on anything OFDM, nor anything else indicating d 3.1 , as some users in AZ have seen)
all 32 ch are still QAM256 as they have been for yrs.
The lower DS frequency range expansion is much needed (GET US OUT OF THOSE BS/NOISY LTE frequencies PLS!)
(i say that as LTE is getting more and more freqs, and essentially covers these freq below 700 :(
anyway, GREAT NEWS! hopefully some better news coming soon maybe ?!
Also i did notice after the Freq. shift, just about every modem i monitor (mostly 16 or 24chs) saw much worse latency / jitter / pkloss for about 48 hours, then it went back to norm (to slightly improved) see img for examples from diff locations, properly sourced.
hey, Tchaika send me a PM, maybe we can exchange info as it seems we are in similar areas. tks
