Install appointment set up for this Thursday. We're scheduled also to receive Cox' Panoramic WiFi gateway which will hopefully do the trick in our 2500 sq foot house without the need of access points, repeaters or extenders, but that's another story.
Got the two remaining 48 inch Sonys mounted on the wall (a lesson learned from last August's flood) when I noticed that possibly the optical audio jack but definitely the HDMI ARC input is blocked by the mount. Way to go, Sony. TVs are Sony KDL48W650D's, with 200 X 200 Vesa configuration.
The Sony User Manual (where the configuration isn't even mentioned---I had to search their site for *any* VESA info on this TV) recommends that the set top box be plugged into the HDMI ARC input. Unless the current obstruction is removed or mitigated, what, if any, negative results are likely to occur by plugging the Cox Contour into the other remaining HDMI port?
I won't even ask about the sound bar and "wireless" rear surround speakers.
