Cox Panoramic Wifi

Granted my neighborhood isn't served by Cox, but in my area the majority of the San Diego County area is served by Cox, and I've seen advertisements on the local television stations touting Panoramic wifi, but I'm interested in learning about the tech aspects of it (which seem to be lacking online about it). Granted I'm aware that it's a service provided by Cox to eliminate wifi deadzones and that Cox uses the Arris TG2472 802.11ac WiFi modem or Netgear R6300 router (with the latter only used with Cox's Gigablast service. I'm wondering though, what specific Netgear extenders are Cox using? I do know the main router is $9.99/mo and each additional extender is $4/mo. And is this similar to mesh wifi or the Netgear Orbi system, where there's just one SSID and it automatically connects to the next available mesh router/Orbi satellite, or with Panoramic Wifi, does one have to physically connect from one wifi network to another? Anyways thank you in advance joining in on the discussion. http://www.lightreading.com/cable/cable-wi-fi/cox-picks-arris-netgear-for-next-gen-wifi/d/d-id/730074
