This has been driving me nuts (and probably the Cox people I've been working with) for the last 10 days or so. When I log into www.cox.com with Google Chrome, I can't do, or even navigate to, much of my account (for instance, Profile and Preferences). Usually, I've been able to do so with Microsoft Edge. Cox can't seem to find anything wrong with my account or their site. I can't see anything wrong with my setup (my firewall logs don't show anything being blocked and I can get everywhere else on the internet (including my bank)). On the off-chance this is a browser problem, I filed a report with Chrome:
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=711930
Today, I tried to pay my Cox bill online with both Chrome and Edge. I couldn't do it with either one. I'm DMing Cox now, but I thought I'd ask here for input. I've tried:
- Clearing browsing data (except for Media Licenses) many times.
- Ran the Chrome Cleanup Tool.
- Reset the browser to default.
- Tried w/o extensions (Incognito).
- Uninstalled beta Chrome and tried Released version of Chrome. Didn't sign in, no extensions, default profile.
- Tried in my daily VPN and by connecting without a VPN.
- Tried different Cox DNS servers (68.111.16.25 and .30, 68.105.29.12 and .13).
- Done ipconfig /release, /renew, and /flushdns.
I noticed this happening when I started using a VPN. But, at about the same time, I changed my cable modem and started using a pfSense box as a router/firewall. But, again, I can get everywhere else on the internet and don't see anything odd in my firewall. Plus, the problem happens whether I'm using the VPN or not.
