Hate you Cox: TV canceled & 15Mb net is next - new customer option?

I called and cancelled TV service today and asked about the best price for my current 15Mb Internet Essential profile. I crapped my pants when retentions quoted their 'deal' of $58 for such a crappy slow tier. I then looked up online that the same speed is $40 for new customers and called the delightful retentions camp again. The guy let me rot on hold while he looked things up. All this did was piss me off more. Told the guy to cancel the internet the last day of my billing cycle. Both calls were sleazy, they must get these guys from car lots. What is the quickest means to cancel and be back online as a 'new' customer. I assume using my spouse's name and social will qualify us for a new account if I order online. We do own our own modem, so this should not require a truck roll. Could this happen overnight? Any advice would be appreciated please.
