Hi all,
Lately I have noticed during the day and evening hours, my download speed slows down to around 30-35Mbps, but at an off peak time, say 1am, I am getting 60+ Mbps. Right now I have a Motorola SB6120 modem that does 4x4 channel bonding and I was hoping to ride it until DOCSIS 3.1 hits, but I think the results are telling me its time to upgrade. Cox already has 24 downstream channels lit up in this area, so it would make no sense in my opinion to buy a modem that does less than 24. So that leaves the Arris SB6190 and the Netgear CM600. The CM600 does 24x8, the SB6190 32x8. Since we already have 24 channels, I am leaning towards going with the SB6190 (that and the fact that I have always used SurfBoards and they've always been solid for me) so that if they do add more channels, I will be able to pick them up, but then again, they may not add more before DOCSIS 3.1 arrives so it could be a waste.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Would appreciate very much hearing them. Thanks in advance.
