I am getting packet loss, and sometimes full connection drops for anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes at a time. I'm using a Motorola Surf Board 6121. I have a two way splitter where the line comes into the house, one goes to the modem, and the other goes to another splitter for the TVs. I seem to have the issue even when directly connected with no splitters though. It also doesn't matter if I'm connected to my router or not.
I've noticed that sometimes when the connection is down, I can still access my modem control panel at 192.168.100.1 Other times I cannot access the page and it will time out until the connection is back online, where I am able to regain access.
I read on a forum that there are special splitters with active return, as opposed to passive return, that may be able to help me. Will that work for me ? I have posted my signal strength readings below. Thank you.
