Hi, all. New poster here but longtime reader. I am in CT. I have premier Internet (100/10). During the day, I'll get 125 down, 12 up wired or wifi. At night, speeds drop to as low as 15 down (upload seems largely unaffected). Always get around 25ms pings. These speed have been verified with Speedtest.net, the speed test here at DSLReports and at Cox's site both through my router (Apple AirPort Extreme-the newer one-802.11 ac) and direct to the modem (Cisco DPQ3212). A Cox tech came out to check things out. Checked all the lines from the modem to the pole. Found nothing wrong. Replaced the modem and left. Problems persist. I really do not think there is anything wrong on my end. The Cox tech said that maybe splitting the node for my neighborhood would help, but when I checked with dispatch on that, they indicated they would not be doing that. Ive had a lot of back and forth with tech support on this. At this point, it's almost like they're telling me: "this is normal. Lots of people on the Internet at night. Tough luck. Live with it". Is it unreasonable of me to expect to get somewhere near the speeds I pay for at night? I'm attaching screen shots of what my signal levels look like right now (9:15pm) and of the speed tests I've done showing speeds during the day as well as at night. Is this a lost cause? It's starting to feel like it.
