I just called Cox to swap out my old modem and activate a new SB6190 tonight, 11/11/2015. The tech that was helping me said that he didn't have that model listed as a model he can select to provisioned so he used the SB6183 to provisioned the modem. Everything seems to be working fine as far as getting online but I'm still curious if provisioning the SB6190 as a SB6183 will have any adverse affect. The device listed on my equipment page for internet showed : Make and Model: RGI6183.
It would be great if any Tech from Cox on here can chimed in on this issue - CoxTech1?. Should I call them back to see if they need to re-provisioned with the correct model or just leave it the way it is since the SB6190 is too new and not fully supported?
I'm in the New Orleans area by the way if that makes any difference. Thanks
