(UCI, Orange County)So I've been on Cox's ultimate internet plan(~150 mbps). I had a technician move the cable connection from upstairs to downstairs so I could relocate my router. Then I realized that it didn't my slow connection problem. I recently found out that they gave me a bad router (UBEE ddw365) that actually slashed my internet speed in half all this time. A few days ago, I decided to switch out the equipment as well as a new, shorter coaxial cable. I'm currently using a ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 modem and a NETGEAR N750 (WNDR4300) router. Upon running tests a few times every hour, my down speed has peaked at 80 mbps at around 6pm and only goes down from there. I've been sitting at 25 mbps tops from 11pm - 3am. This is extremely frustrating because not only have I been inadvertently scammed, but I'm still not receiving what I'm paying for and we all know what customer service is like...Please help and thanks.
