[AZ] Cox does not support SBG6782-AC specs?

In April of 2014 I upgraded to the Ultimate tier and purchased a modem to support it, the Motorola SBG6782-AC. Ever since, I have intermittent connectivity and speed. Even using Cox's official speed checker would show that sometimes I have 0 download or upload speeds. At times, I could not even get their website to come up. I had a Cox technician come out and check things out and claimed everything looks good and that I should return my new modem for a different one. However, I first wanted to see if the manufacturer could find anything wrong with the device. Immediately the Motorola support pointed out that my upstream power levels were too high, 50 dBmV, and that the device would drop connections at those levels. He stated that the device is rated for 35 - 47 dBmV. Furthermore, he stated that the upstream and downstream channels work together and that the variances between channels within its respective group should be no more than 1.5. This holds true for power or SNR. What the Motorola technician told me, fit the symptoms of my issues. Believing that I now had something to work with, I contacted the same Cox technician. He quickly deflated my hopes by stating that their power levels can go as high as 52 dBmV, and that according to the Motorola application written, my device should be fine with those levels. Also, that they would not be able to lower the power levels at all. Don't even worry about the variances, because they don't care about them at all; just so that a particular channel will fall within Cox's specs. So now I am being told conflicting specifications between two large companies. How do I get them to talk to each other? Does anyone else use this device? Is there any hope in getting it to work properly for me? [att=1]
