Yesterday, Saturday, I decided to finally cancel TV service

And Cox came through. Though the actual cancelling process took quite a while - 5 minutes hold right up front, another couple 5-minute pauses as "account info came up" (weird) - there was no controversy, not multiple people to talk with, nothing out of the ordinary. The ONE rep asked a few standard (and expected) questions like "Why?" and that was that - she entered the order to cancel TV and my monthly bill dropped from $160-ish to $60-ish. Just like that - 30 minutes after initial call, done - truly painless. Even if our Internet use rises due to streaming what we were watching on TV (our highest monthly internet use was about 225 GBytes, and that was last month), the cost to upgrade to the next tier will be a small fraction of that $100 currently saved. Painless.
