I have contacted Cox tonight regarding a firmware upgrade of my SB6141 from 1.0.6.12 to 1.0.6.14 that was pushed a couple months ago.
I was told that the tech tried but could not make it work since it was not a rented modem and that I would need to go through Motorola to make this work. I explained to the tech that it was a Cox technician that initially pushed 1.0.6.10 and 1.0.6.12 to my modem due to previous issues (that are still occurring and have been occurring for well over a year now with no resolution).
I've spoken with Motorola in the past and they say that it is the ISP's discretion to push the firmware upgrades out and that they cannot manually flash the modem.
So I feel like I'm getting toyed with here because I decided not to get gouged by renting a modem....
Is this really how Cox treats their longstanding customers? I'm a tad bit disgusted right now.
