THE PROBLEM:
I have the Ultimate Internet Package from cox which is advertising 150MBs. I also have cable tv with 4 HD boxes and phone service but is not connected to the modem since I bought my own modem which doesn't support phone service. When I first opened the account 2 months ago I went with the preferred internet package and 2 days after I upgraded to the Ultimate Package. Since than I haven't had the advertising ultimate speed which is 150MBs. Im only getting 94MBs Download & like 20MBs upload. Today I had a technician come in and he checked everything out. He checked the strength of the connection with his meter & tested the internet speed with his meter and everything looked fine. He told me he got 165MBs Download and 30MBs Upload. He after called someone from cox to verify that everything was looking good on their end and the lady said that everything was looking good. She even did a speed test from their end and she got 155MBs Download and 30MBs Upload. He than told me he couldn't do anything from there since the modem is my own equipment and that if I had the cox modem that I got from the beginning he could of check everything the modem is doing but since is my own modem he can't do that.He after told me to call cox and tell them to let me speak to a level 2 agent and tell them to check the configuration of the modem to see if is the right one for the modem you have. So I did that after the technician left my house.I called and they couldn't do anything either.They said everything looks fine on their end, the modem has the right firmware.The lady had me speed test the connection from the internet tool at cox.com but I kept getting a "test timed out" error. She only wanted me use the cox internet speed tool from my account so that way they can see it from their end and verify that Im not getting the correct speed.But couldn't do anything either.After that we hang up.
